“Winning The Gender War— Dr. Jay Richards on The Dr J Show”

by Edward Ulrich, December 30, 2023

Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse of the Ruth Institute speaks with Dr. Jay Richards of The Heritage Foundation.  Richards explains how Florida has effectively dealt with problems of gender ideology being taught in schools and supposed “gender affirming care” being given to minors, and how other states can implement the same agendas.

Also discussed is how in California, if a child asks their parent to be given transitioning treatments and the parent refuses, the child can tell their school principal who can report the parent to the child protective services (CPS) and the child can then be declared a ward of the state if they wish to be, where the child will then have access to Medicaid dollars to have the treatments performed.

Following are points made in the discussion:

— Florida and other states have been effectively dealing with problems of gender ideology being taught in schools and “gender affirming care” (meaning sex change drugs and surgery) being given to minors.  Instead of passing laws about those issues, Florida appointed a medical board of experts which issued a major report which concluded that since there is no evidence that the “gender affirming” treatments help minors, Medicaid dollars should not be spent on it.  Florida generally didn’t “ban” the procedures, but instead regulated and restricted them, as the UK has recently done as well.  Florida’s medical board of experts were very competent and they were not simply a bunch of political hacks.

— A “mania” currently exists to implement sex change treatments in ways that society would never do if it was any other issue, but because it deals with gender and sex the safeguards are off.

— Most of the people in the legislatures of states are not doctors and they don’t have the relevant expertise to decide on such matters, so such people often look to corrupt organizations such as “The American Academy of Pediatricians” which is actually just an advocacy group.

— If Florida had instead passed a law that actually bans sex change operations for minors, judges associated with Biden’s Department of Justice and groups such as the ACLU would have sued to strike strike down the law in favor of implementing harmful federal transgender agendas.

— It is an outrage that transgender treatments are allowed to be given to minors.  In 15 years it will be looked back on as being tantamount to how giving lobotomies is thought of now, but at the moment many medical organizations are claiming that such treatments are the right thing to do.

— In California, if a child asks their parent to be given transitioning treatments and the parent refuses, the child can tell their school principal who can report the parent to the child protective services (CPS) and the child can then be declared a ward of the state if they wish to be, where the child will then have access to Medicaid dollars to have the treatments performed.

— Currently it is not known how much Medicaid tax money is actually being spent on such procedures nationally.

— In Florida, since the state has designated the procedures as being a bad idea and Medicaid does not cover the cost of it, the insurance companies generally also don’t pay for it unless they do so for “woke” reasons, and most physicians don’t want anything to do with it either.  Pediatricians also feel much less social pressure to prescribe such treatments as a result.

— The most significant actions of creating policy are occurring in the regulatory agencies more than simply by the actions of judges and politicians.

— The Establishment media is attempting to fear monger about what Florida has done by claiming that the state is forcing people to “de-transition.”

— There were two sets of hearing in Florida in order to create the reports.

— Citizens can get involved in helping to create policy either if they are experts about the subject or by being activists either in person or on social media.

— A lot of time is spent doing what is called “notice of proposed rule making” (NPRM), which means that there is an analysis of what the process of making the rule will cost and what the benefits of the rule will be, and doing so needs to be open to comment from experts and the general public.  People who have been personally effected by the issue can show up and speak such as parents who have been adversely effected by their children transitioning.  The regulators are legally obliged to account for every unique comment that is made.

— Some major helpful advocacy groups about such matters are The Heritage Foundation, The Alliance Defending Freedom, The Ethics & Public Policy Center, The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, and The Society for Evidence Based Gender Medicine.

— The group Moms for Liberty organizes itself by county where they try to organize themselves to correspond with jurisdictions of school boards.  Social conservatives are often “asleep at the wheel” where local schools are getting away with implementing harmful “woke” agendas even in Republican areas, such as in happening in some counties in Virginia.

— A lot of the gender indoctrination agendas are being implemented by local school boards, which have an huge amount of power.

— Homeschooling can be effective, but it is more preferable that people fight to make their public schools appropriate for everyone instead.

— Richards mentions the phrase “School to Sterilization Pipeline,” which starts with re-naming kids with opposite sex names and pronouns, which is a “psycho-social intervention” against the identity of the child; the second step is administering puberty blockers to pre-adolescents; the third step is injecting cross-sex hormones into junior high children; and the fourth step is performing actual surgery on high school students such as cutting the breasts off of girls and cutting the penises and testicles off of boys.  There is no “last step” in the process because there is no end to maintaining the implementation of opposite sex hormones.

— Girls are often sterilized by receiving the huge amounts of testosterone injections.

— Before the mania for sex changes existed, the vast majority of pre-pubescent kids who had gender dysphoria eventually outgrew it.

— Girls can experience permanent effects from opposite sex hormones such as damage to their facial structure and vocal cords.

— School counselors, teachers (especially newly graduated ones), and administrators are pushing gender transitions onto the students.

— Some public schools start the transitions based only on the expressed wishes of the child rather than being based on any medical diagnosis, and in some states it can even be done behind the backs of parents.

— Partially tax-funded “Gay-Straight Alliance” (GSA) clubs are now renamed to be “Gender-Sexuality Alliance” clubs.

— Abigail Martinez was a woman in California whose child Yaeli wanted to transition to be a boy but she wouldn’t let her, so Yaeli called child protective services (CPS) who took her away from Abigail and put her in a foster home with a “gender activist” woman to be transitioned, where the woman was already in the process of transitioning another child.  A few years after being transitioned, Yaeli stepped in front of a train to kill herself.  Situations such as that are happening all over the country.

— Dr. Morse explains that decent people underestimate the malice of their opponents, and people misunderstand the nature of the “sexual state” (as in a “political” state).  The video shows Dr. Morese’s book “The Sexual State.”

— Since the “New Deal” in the 1930’s, Congress stopped making its own decisions but rather started creating mostly unaccountable “entities” of administrative agencies to make its decisions, which has ended up being the current “Deep State.”  Dr. Morse explains that her activism exposes the “Sexual Deep State.”

— Marin Rothblatt is the billionaire founder of the biotechnology company Untied Therapeutics, and he was the CEO of GeoStar and SiriusXM Satellite Radio. In 1994, he publicly declared himself as a woman, and he is a philanthropist for transgenderism agendas.  He was the top earning CEO in the biopharmaceutical industry in 2018.

— Gender ideology falls apart logically, where transgender people lurch between being totally “materialists” who try to make their body be a certain way, to being total “immaterialists” where they attempt to claim that they can be whatever they want their gender to be immaterial of the physical reality.

— Gender ideology allows people to put themselves into a “protected class” where potentially they would be not be otherwise.

— Gender activists are “culture-destroying wrecking balls” who hate the present order.

— Some ways that citizens can make a difference are as follows: Comment on legislative rules that are under review, show up to school board meetings, and find out if you have a public health apparatus that is appointed by the governor such as is in Florida.

— Florida has been very effective by implementing its “Parent’s Rights in Education” bill for transparency and accountability in schools, and Arkansas has implemented a “Safe Act” which prohibits but does not criminalize the procedures and it gives citizens the right tor sue doctors even decades after the fact.

— About six to twelve other states are positioned to implement the same sort of policies as Florida has.  States need to be careful to implement the most effective measures that won’t allow the Biden administration to sue them in court to block the healthy anti-trans agendas.

— Richards additionally mentions the organizations The Independent Women’s Forum, The Manhattan Institute, Concerned Women for America, The Family Policy Alliance, The American College of Pediatricians, and The American Association of Pro-Life Ob-Gyns.

— Fear of being hated for standing up for what is right is the “fear of man” which Jesus warned against.  Getting attacked for doing the right thing is much better than suffering for doing the wrong thing.
